The mandate of the College is to serve and protect the public and to continue to deliver on its mandate, the College is currently recruiting to fill the position of Project Specialist.
Position Summary The Project Specialist is responsible for applying leadership practices in project management, and building project management capacity across the organization. The ideal candidate will lead and/or coordinate a portfolio of diverse projects to ensure timelines and stakeholder requirements are met. The individual will manage day-to-day requirements while coordinating all phases of multiple projects from initiation, planning, design and execution, performance monitoring, and closeout. The ideal candidate will liaise and build partnerships with project team members and relevant stakeholders along with producing documentation to ensure it follows standards, is version controlled and archived as per the College’s records management policy.
• Demonstrate broad knowledge and capability in applying leading practices in project management, by implementing project management frameworks, standards and tools • Conduct needs analysis, recommend and implement approved annual capacity building plan in areas of expertise • Prioritize projects per approved criteria and contribute to the development of integrated processes, tools, and template to support annual operating planning • Develop and monitor performance indicators and measures for approved projects, and prepare mitigation plans where needed • Monitor quality and risk through project dashboards, and apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to uncover root causes, and possible solutions to maximize project benefits • Build relationships with stakeholders to understand needs and develop solutions to maximize effectiveness of projects in alignment with the College’s strategic plan • Provide project management and/or coordination support to team members and collaborators as needed, based on the complexity of the project and capabilities of the project team, ensuring that project management best practices are implemented • Continually examine work processes and explore opportunities for improving efficiencies through technology, elimination or altering of work processes and make recommendations to the Manager, Business Processes

We are accepting applications provided you have the following qualifications: • College Diploma in Project Management • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated accomplishment in the planning, management and delivery of projects, preferably in health care or other knowledge based environments • Superior analytical, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills would be considered an asset • Superior proficiency with MS Office applications and relational database
