The Senior Manager, PMO (Project Management Office) serves as a central point of contact for all SCM and its 7 different business lines, to include ClaimsPro, Xpera, Opta, RMS, Pario, IPG and SCM Health and supporting our US expansion.

The role is responsible for directly managing multiple projects and/or large programs of varying complexity, possibly cross-department or cross-companies at various geographic locations. Additionally, responsible for organizing, directing and executing the activities of assigned projects/programs in order to ensure that projects are completed on time, within the approved budget, and within stated strategic business goals objectives. Additionally, responsible for partnering closely with business partners and technology teams to ensure successful execution.
This position requires some travel.
Prepares plans that consider many interdependencies and multiple stakeholders.
Facilitates and/or manages the gathering of business requirements for the project
Facilitates or manages in the development of the project definition (Scope and Deliverables)
Actively seeks the identification of project issues, escalates and manages resolution as required, including non-performance of project team duties by project team members.
Relies on understanding of business issues in providing solutions and facilitating alternative solutions
Communicates a compelling case for change; clearly articulates the risks of maintaining the status quo and the benefits of moving forward. Understands and can communicate clearly with business leaders the case for change whether for efficiencies or client impact.
Contributes towards shaping the business as a partner/influencer
Builds a powerful network: Strategically develops and maintains a network of relations with key influencers.
Seeks out industry trends to generate and recommend alternative approaches / solutions to meet needs / requirements (i.e., business case, feasibility)
Creation, maintenance and delivery of financial reports for PMO driven projects.
Leadership, Relationships and Communications
Role is critical to the building of the PMO (policies, practices, guidelines) by providing recommendations and implementing agreed approach
Training on PMP principles, coaching and mentorship of project team leads, team members, contractors and others as required.
Connects on a regular basis with business leaders to profile projects underway, in order to obtain their ongoing commitment
In partnership with business sponsor, participates in the selection of new or existing external vendors. Facilitates relationship with third parties to meet project deliverables
Manages project communications (e.g., presentations to steering committees management documents)
Ensures risk assessments are completed, and contingency plans identified
Ensures documentation of all plans is filed with appropriate corporate authorities
Qualifications & Experience
PMP Certified mandatory
7 - 10 years project management experience, supporting multiple complex projects/programs creating Charters, Business Cases, and Requirements Documents
MBA and/or accounting designation value add
Consulting and Insurance experience an asset
Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work
Strong Interpersonal Skills; motivate project team members and interact effectively with all levels
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
Solid issues management and resolution skills
Strong analytical, process and detail oriented skills
Comfortable with MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
