This position will report to the Director of the Centerstone Project Management Office and will have responsibilities for enterprise-level projects that collectively span the entire footprint of the corporation. The Project Manager II is responsible for guiding Centerstone project teams through the process of envisioning, planning and executing projects per accepted project management best practices and methodologies.
This key position will manage multiple projects at any one time, dependent on scope and complexity, ensuring that typical project artifacts and processes are completed. The Project Manager II will generally be able to leverage enterprise resources such as business analysts and core teams to complete project tasks. The role is focused on guiding those cross-functional teams in the use of project management processes while also serving as the primary owner for project management-related tasks.
Initially this position will be assigned as a project manager on our upcoming ERP implementation. This project is expected to last a full year, and will likely represent ~50% of this position’s workload while the project is active. Centerstone is a growing and thriving company, so once the ERP project is complete the successful candidate should expect to manage a variety of business, clinical, and technology initiatives. Typical projects will involve a mix of process and technology implementations or changes, and the selected candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate a wide variety of skills while gaining experience leading key change initiatives at the nation’s largest community mental health system.
Project Manager II Job Responsibilities:
Develop or assist in development of Charters and Project Management Plans
Facilitate creation of requirement documentation by organizing and tracking the work of core teams and business analysts
Organize and monitor the creation of a work breakdown and project schedule by the project core team
Monitor execution of Project Management Plan items, including status reporting and issue resolution tracking
Confidently and seamlessly manage multiple projects simultaneously as necessary
Comply with portfolio management reporting requirements
Provide a focus on transparency for risks, issues, and overall status
Highlight and help resolve and plan around resource conflicts
Project Manager II Skills and Qualifications:
Must be familiar with core project management concepts
Must place a strong value on discipline related to project plans and other commitments
Must be able to assert order and communication across project teams while maintaining effective working relationships and trust
Must be familiar with project planning tools such as task lists, Gantt charts, and status reports
Must be excellent with verbal, written and project related communications
Must be capable of negotiating commitments and maintaining accountability from project team members
Must have PMP or equivalent hours of experience serving in a project management role
Prefer healthcare IT experience
Prefer experience with software implementation, particularly ERP and/or EHR software
Prefer experience with Workday
Bachelors degree required
